OUR
PRODUCTION

All REDDIE products are brought to life in our workshop located in Central Java, Indonesia - where great craftsmanship, sustainability and quality material come together.
When developing the concept for a furniture brand producing quality products to suit specific needs, we approached many factories, but most defaulted to mass production.
Realising our path was less common, we began to develop a team of our own in Indonesia, full of skilled craftspeople, aligned to our values. A serendipitous venture, since both our co-founders, Caroline and Andrew, share Indonesian heritage.
OUR
CRAFTSMANSHIP

Central Java has been renowned for its woodworking for centuries, from early Javanese and Islamic influences to the Dutch colonial period. The region is known for intricate carvings and exceptional woodworking talents that blend traditional skills with modern styles.
We have a team of over 60 craftsmen that are third-generation carpenters who have been immersed in woodworking all their lives. When you take a stroll down one of our factory community streets you will see most homes have some kind of craft being made. From ladies weaving rattan in their front yard, to small carpentry carving shops through to leather working studios. The town is built on creating beautiful objects by hand.
All designs are naturally crafted and we do not mass produce. We celebrate the variations and imperfections that comes with the traditional hand-crafted techniques used.
OUR
QUALITY

Choosing to produce refined products from reclaimed materials that are made to order and versatile required setting up a new factory and production system. It took Caroline and Andrew over five years to slowly build a team and infrastructure capable of producing refined reclaimed products on demand and at scale.
At REDDIE, we strive for quality and transparency. Our expert craftsmanship meets with premium quality materials to achieve the high standard we uphold as a brand. Made to order rather than mass-produced, every product is unique, marked with natural variations and imperfections that we fully embrace. Each piece is one of one, and made with commercial durability.
OUR
CONSCIENCE

We own our own production in Central Java Indonesia where each employee is directly employed by our business. This way we can ensure every person is being paid above award wages. We additionally support our staff by paying for any further education they wish to undertake, and having team building activities such as aerobics classes, sports days, and external outings. Our staff work according to the government regulations and are paid overtime. They truly are a magnificent group of people, and at REDDIE we want to help change the perception of Asian made products in western cultures. Makers deserve to be aknowledged no matter where they are from. So we encourage all brands who make exquisite products in Asia to be transparent.
