REDDIE Reclaims Live in Surry Hills

Our FSC-certified milestone,

 celebrated the hands-on way

To celebrate REDDIE’s newly awarded Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody certification (read more about it here) for traceable reclaimed timber production, we opened the doors of our Surry Hills showroom to our surrounding design community for a live demo of our handcrafted process.

Alongside the drinks, cake cutting, and all the usual festivities, we wanted to mark the milestone with something that truly reflects the heart of REDDIE. That's when we added a little sawdust to the mix.

The stars of the show?

Three of our master carpenters, flown in from our central Java factory, who brought the process to life by transforming a rough reclaimed teak post into a refined, ready-to-live piece in the showroom.

Guests were invited to get their hands on the material and sand it themselves, feeling the grain and weight of old-growth wood that has lived another life. It was a chance to experience first-hand just how handcrafted and deeply considered the journey is from reclaimed teak to refined timber.

Between Indonesian bites and a few well-poured drinks, REDDIE’s Caroline and Cass shared the journey that’s brought us here. From our circular production model and commitment to timeless, sustainable design, to why reclaiming waste sits at the core of how we’re disrupting the traditional furniture supply chain.

We also offered a sneak peek at our ongoing material collaborations, featuring regenerative wool fabrics by Textile 23 on new showroom pieces, as well as an exclusive first look at our upcoming range with Natural Brick.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a warm, hands-on, and full-of-shared-purpose night. Keep an eye out as we’re just getting started.
